No 1 ,Explanation: The Crab Nebula is catalogued as M1, the first object on Charles Messier's famous list of things which are not comets. In fact, the cosmic Crab is now known to be a supernova remnant, an expanding cloud of debris from the death explosion of a massive star. Light from that stellar catastrophe was first witnessed by astronomers on planet Earth in the year 1054. Composed of 24 exposures taken in October 1999, January 2000, and December 2000, this Hubble Space Telescope mosaic spans about twelve light years. Colours in the intricate filaments trace the light emitted from atoms of hydrogen, oxygen, and sulphur in the debris cloud. The spooky blue interior glow is emitted by high-energy electrons accelerated by the Crab's central pulsar. One of the most exotic objects known to modern astronomers, the pulsar is a neutron star, the spinning remnant of the collapsed stellar core. The Crab Nebula lies about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Taurus.

No 2 ,Explanation: DR and I both gasped like landed fish at this guys humour in our youth . The picture is of Kenny Everett in the guise of his other persona Captain Kremmen , that's not me in the Tub but Carla short Kremmen right hand man , girls were drawn bad long before Jessica Rabbit , .The Kenny Everett Explosion was unleashed upon the mainly unsuspecting public in the UK in the mid 70's. A motley crew of characters like Sid Snot, Captain Kremmen, Marcel Wave, Gizzard Puke, and the adorable Ms Cupid Stunt were the basis for the show. Probably just as famous as his comic creations were Hot Gossip, the scantily-clad dancers, who provided some risqué interludes.

No 3 ,Explanation: black holes , super nova's ,black matter , the black the black or is this fate just a very very dark blue lol .

No 4 ,Explanation: The scale of the stars , from BWTO .
Betelgeuse - sounds and looks orangey sweet.
Rigel - looks and sounds like a Wint'ry gay snot blob.
