Alas, I will not achieve the centuries-long fame of Biggus Dickus, or his slave Feliticus Amorous. But I will be remembered for causing the accidental death of Anna Nicole Smith, who insisted on testing my latest research into penile enlargement past the design limits. I was lucky to not be indicted.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Bush should be tried, convicted and hung for crimes against humanity.

I don't. My opinion is mine only. I'm happy with that.

George W. Bush will be judged markedly more harshly than Richard M. Nixon. And rightly so.

Interesting thing is that Nixon prolonged the war in Vietnam to get elected which ended in the deaths of many more American troops and Vietnamese than the War in Iraq has killed Iraqis and Americans. Aside from that I guess their attitude to domestic policy was much the same in terms of using subversive tactics.

Nixon inherited a war and used it as a means to his ends. Bush chose to start one to further his agenda of corporate empire. History will record this as more of the machinations are exposed. And the apologists are readying their cries of 'revisionist history' in his defense. They will fail.

True what I was mainly getting at was that Nixon stalled any chance of real peace at teh Paris peace talks during the election to get elected, he also ran on a platform of ending the war yet under him it was extended to both Laos and Cambodia.

Agreed. In both situations stated policy was trumped by intended agenda.
