So, the news is that a Republican senator tried to get some gay public restroom sex, but the story from the Republicans is that Bill Clinton got a blow job.
I'd like to think that the Dems don't want to persecute on sexual issues, but the truth is that they know they don't need to say a word. He will self destruct.
Well, the issue means different things to different parties. The Republican Party needs the religious fascists to stay in power - without them their sole constituency is rich white people, an ever shrinking minority in this country. The only way they can pull common every day people into their scam is by putting on the God dog. Well, we all know that God Hates Fags, so the real sin here of Craig is his discovery to be a homosexual, something akin to the Chappelle comedy routine of the robed klansman being discovered as a black man. Democrats could care less about the sexual orientation of individuals. So the fun is to just kick back and watch the church ladies recoil in horror as their indignant phony Christian senators coming rushing to shield their eyes. It is fun to watch them as they try to counter with Clinton. I never gave a fuck about Clinton's blowjob, and Craig's situation only catches interest because it is inherently hysterically funny.
Craig is so emblematic of modern "Christian conservatism". If this had been done as a "good of the nation" thing, he would have quietly resigned a month ago while he was still being successful at suppressing news of the charges. When the news finally broke a month later, he would have been safely out of office "unreachable on vacation" somewhere with Mark Foley, emulating a man who has essentially never been heard from again. But as I said, Craig is emblematic. He had no thought of the good of nation or his party, he simply schemed to maintain power for himself, and he is a powerful man indeed. He is a typical Republican wolf-in-sheep's clothing, sitting on powerful environmental committees, where his job is to make sure that Western ranchers and loggers get to ass-rape the environment. The new senator will have no seniority, so this job may now fall to a more environmentally friendly northern senator who will only let them go so far as vaginal raping our national treasures. This will turn out to cost the Rich White Men of the West a lot of money. Bad Republican! Shame on you!
