In 1950 U.S. forces fought China to a standstill in their little Korean proxy war, hence the cessation of hostilities and division of Korea.

In fact, China could overrun S. Korea by sheer force of numbers as you suggest, if it were absolutely determined to do so, but two things ensure that will never happen. First, no country on earth is more opposed to a unified Korea than China (except possibly the U.S.), and second, S. Korea's advanced weaponry would inflict horrific damage upon China in retaliation, including massive devastation in all of China's most important metropolitan areas.

And if Taiwan (possible) and/or Japan (unlikely) chose to throw their lot in with the Koreans, mainland China would be bombed right back to the Stone Age.

Would China wind up pulling out one or more of their couple dozen nuclear warheads? Difficult to say...

Mostly because the North Koreans are fucking nuts, and we don't want nuts that close to Japan. We need the cameras.

That has not changed today.

On that note, it ALSO seems that in Iraq, and to an extent in Afghanistan, there seems to be a similar limitless number of insurgents and terrorists that keep popping up, and the only way to stop it would be to slaughter the ALL women who keep giving birth to them, and the Mullahs who educate them in hatred.
I don't know about slaughtering the mothers, but I definitely think a campaign of assassination of mullahs who advocate violence against us is the way to win the war on terror, because that is at the heart of what caused the 9-11 attack. I see them as the real enemy, as they us religious fervor of young men to carry out their own twisted wishes on us. We need to take a cue from the Israelis - armies and invasions are not the answer to this problem, it has to be approached with surgical care, clandestine police work over WWII style military crap. It is the main reason George Bush has blown it. He never comprehended that and was constricted by the fact he himself and his family is under personal control of the Saudi oil fascists who pull his strings. A president who had not once borrowed money from the Bin Laden family, a president whose daddy did not sit on the board of directors of a dozen corporations with Saudi fascists, would have sent agents into Saudi Arabia and clipped the motherfuckers who incited the Al Queda movement. Instead, we have a president who mysteriously lets Bin Laden go, and his family flee the US in the days after 9-11, a president who can never seem to quite get his hands on Bin Laden, a president who let's Saudi Arabia off scott-free even tho 19 of the 20 hijackers were Saudis and none were Iraqis. Why?

Of course that is correct. The lying fascists beholden to oil interests wrapping themselves in the American flag should wake up and target the birthplace of the evil.

Assinate th scumbags who perpetuate it and the Saudi Wahabi nutjobs who fund those schools of hate with oil money, in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and else where.

Flushing American solidiers lives down the toilet trying to referee the fighters is just a waste of American blood.

Of course the arms dealers, Halliburton and all the war profiteers would have none of that, and even the fucking cheerleaders at home with their god damned made in China yellow ribbons on the SUVs are pretty quiet these days.

Meanwhile the president, yet another stubborn, arrogant Texan, has the utter temerity and gall to insult the public with specious arguments about Vietnam.

I think he would rather die than admit he is wrong, and would rather increase his imperial powers, and wipe out all constitutional rights of the citizens, all in the name of "national security"

Another year of this and the whole entire Republican empire that was built on an unholy alliance of corporate greedheads,
fascist gun nuts, religious loonies, will hopefully be swept from office for a generation at least, hardly enough time to clean up the carnage of blood and debt left behind.

Having lived through the Watergate mess, I never would have imagined in my wildest nightmare, that these lying callous people would eve arise again.

I think this could go down in history a the worst Presidency in our history.

At the very least, impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney, and people like Pelosi who won't step up deserve to get their political asses kicke even by the likes of Cindy Sheehan.

Disgusting.
