President Bush delivering powreful speech

The President is in the middle of what I think may be the best speech of his presidency. He's in Kansas City addressing the VFW, and I have never seen him in better form. The text of his speech isn't available yet, but I found this press release that outlines some of his main points but w/out the supporting personal examples which make it so powerful. I'll post the full text when available.

Fact Sheet: Promoting Democracy to Help Make America Safer

Reading other peoples words doesn't make you a politician. It makes you a performer.

If he did say that I think he was correct. It was a very powerful statement about why helping to create new democracies is so important and why the U.S. has been so involved in doing so.

Thumbs down

He is only saying what the AIPAC is telling him to say. He is their puppet. After all he is not saying anything about the root of the problem which is Israel's illegal construction on the occupied lands. This has been deemed illegal by all international courts as well as by the United States.

Well, no one will ever accuse him of being "a performer..." His writers know what is in his heart and he is saying exactly what he believes. I've heard him say as much on hundreds of occasions, w/out text, in the past. Hate him if you must, but don't accuse him of saying what he does not believe.

With the greatest respect that's bullshit. It's about new democracies that will follow Americas lead. Democratic elections only count if the CIA tell him that they're OK.

Did you READ it Jayhawk??

What a bunch of shit.

It compares the WOT to the fight against Imperial Japan in WW2 and the Korean War. Says we will get the same "benefits"

I can hardly wait. We will get to buy Taliban Toyotas and Hezbullah Hyundais.
Good lord.

Compares it to the war in Vietnam. That one's even harder to spin. All we got out of THAT....Bruce R. to the contrary......was 58,000 dead soldiers and thousands more wounded.

Oh yeah, and boatloads of Vietnamese refugees all over the USA. GREAT benefits there.

.............Vietnamese fishing fleets off the Texas coast that are oceangoing vacuum cleaners and gill netting every fish in the whole ocean. Check.

............Vietnamese Restaurants in every city, but that is a good thing......5 spice chicken and Cafe Sua Da....mmmm. Whats the name of the Vietnamese restaurant in Kansas City btw? "Thang Sa Lot" maybe......

...........Clip joints? Vietnamese Nail Salons on every corner.

At this point, I couldn't go on........puked onto the keyboard reading the Republican spew.

Just more Republican bull$hit.

Drenched in patriotic perfume, as usual, but sorry, American ain't buying it anymore.

Someone else take it from here, please, I can't, it stinks too much.

America's lead is a pretty good one, isn't it? I'm curious who you think has a better one?
