Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address

I think it would be a great place for you to live, Bruce, you'd fit right in.

I really like Santa Fe too. The art community is thriving and the air of creativity is amazing. I hung around there abit in 87-88 with friends. I was disappointed when I went back in 2002 at just how much development had taken place. It was as if California had moved in. I did not spend enough time in 2002 to be able to tell if the ambiance had changed much but the traffic/development startled me.
