Everyone here knows my thoughts on the NeoCon [NewConfused]. However, over the past couple of weeks I have caught a couple of shows on TV on The Sixties that has given me a new view of the NeoCon.

One of the shows was The Sixties: The Years that Shaped a Generation The Sixties | PBS and the other was a program on politics in the 1964-1972 election cycles [can't find a link].

One thing that stood out after watching both shows, both of which had a very good focus on the Political atmosphere of the time, was what I believe to be the Genesis of the NeoCon movement. If you watch footage of the George Wallace campaign in 1968 and 1972 you see the beginnings of the "us vs them" campaign and the strict "law and order" at the expense of the Constitution attitude and a very narrow focused campaign that supported the idea that it was ok to hate a certain group of Americans since they were not "true Americans". It was the start of the entanglement of Southern religious groups with political action.

Wow.

Somehow I am not surprised.
