We live in a world of spin, seem to like it even. Finding a source without it is becoming increasingly difficult.
I agree. It is why my major news sources are from out of country so the primary spin and personal political bias is less likely to be involved in the story.
Nope. Why it's the smell of egg on the face of anybody who
ever used Wiki to make their point.
Now that I agree with 100%. I use Wiki for historical pop reference [if I want a quick summary]. But for anything current, or with any level of controversy, it is pretty useless. I had a wiki about that but...
Even the Mercedes ones are a bit loose with fact. The 500E wiki has a cut and paste from a web site that has known errors. But no one has corrected it yet.
It's a shame really, now know one well ever know if Wiki is fact or farce
What the hell do you mean? It's all farce. If it's not admissible as a source in college homework and term papers, it's fiction.
Anything subjective must be considered fictional. Stuff like articles on sciences, pure reference, things where there aren't deep-rooted points of view at conflict with each other tinged by animosity, are probably safe.
Basically, school reports based on Wikipedia are probably safe through 4th or 5th grade - that's it. Arguments based on 'facts' in the Wikipedia are valid in direct proportion to the idiocy of those you hope to sway.

Feel The Love Enterprise's entry on our Nigerian Email Division was shamelessly altered by someone on this web site. I suspect GermanStar, because he constantly sends me threatening PMs demanding his fee for acting as transfer agent for a large amount of cash I am holding in a Nigerian account for the late Idi Amin, which no one has come forward to claim. I have assured GS we will have the money wired to his account as soon as the computers in Lagos have been repaired. The man is so impatient. It is a poor way to treat someone who has allowed him to split millions in return for his $2,000 earnest payment. I have also offered him an additional 10% commission in return for a 107 rear axle rebuild kit, with the commission payable in Albanian bonds. And what do I get in return? A Wiki entry describing me as a "spammer and scammer". How crass. For those of you who recognize a real opportunity, please contact me on how you can help me move $20 million dollars by making your bank account available to me for the deposit transfer. I will need a copy of one of your checks, and I will need your Social Security Number in order to check your credit. Only those who can prove they have substantial assets in their account can qualify. In return, I will split with you the sum of $20 million dollars.

Many entries are heavily foot noted. They are an excellent entry point for deeper study. Use the foot note links and you will find the real scholarship. I think it is a great resource in that way. And BTW, like all FTL products, my font is bigger.

Citing the sources in the footnotes would be acceptable...citing Wikipedia is a recipe for flunkitude.
Also, bigger isn't always better. Insert your own "Designo's Mom" joke here.
