that's bullshit, how could he change gears without his left leg? Being a rider myself i don't believe the story 1 bit...

oh hang on it doesnt say which leg...but still i dont believe it, u're always shifting your body on the bike when u're riding..there's no way he could've gone that far without knowing.

Um, it was his right leg, below the knee. I'd guess he probably noticed when he went to apply the rear brake. I'm impressed that when he realized it he didn't vomit and pass out.

Not everyone rides like it's a track day. In regular daily riding my body stays pretty quiet on my bike. Kick it up a notch on the backroads, you're right.
