Honey is too intense for me. I've tried multiple varieties praying that I would enjoy it to no avail. Same with real maple syrup, the sugar content collapses my head. The only timeI truly enjoy sugar is when it's in a Cinnabun.....OMFG!!!!!

When I first started in The City, the company for whom I worked were the biggest traders of cocoa and hazelnuts on the planet. Accordingly, Ferrero were a very major client. Their quality control was second to none, so although Nutella is a nutritional disaster, it is at least wholesome.
However, in Europe, especially the Netherlands, there are many 'own label' producers of gianduia and because of the masking effect of the cocoa and sugar, really old and nasty hazelnuts unft for any other application can be put into the grinder and are miraculously 'baptised'. The raised free fatty acid and peroxide levels (rancidity) in stale nuts have a very unpleasant taste, but that is not the real concern. If they are very old and badly stored a naturally occurring soil fungus can produce Aflatoxins which are for all intents and purposes deadly. The details are technical and boring, but suffice it to say, I am very picky about any products which contain hazels, brazils or groundnuts (peanuts)- and so should you all too. Be extremely cautious of any nut products which may originate from China. Bon apetite!

It makes me what to vomit ! we had this French girl living in our flat when we were students and she would have that squirrel shit on her toast every morning with nine camel lights and four black coffees . I can still see that brown filth oozing between her green teeth as I type .
