With the peculiar German grammar 'Umlaut', Gruppenführer, can be spelled Gruppenfuehrer, meaning group leader, and was considered equivalent to a full General.

Here's the real difference between an AK and an AR:

AK: Bullet hose, lots of rounds, and occasionally you can hit something with one. Poor accuracy because of poor quality ammo and a barrel that flexes when you shoot. Reliable, yes, but at a cost. A hit at 200 yards is as much luck as skill.
Easy to build at home if you can get a parts kit. Receivers can be made from sheet metal, available almost anywhere.

AR: First a rifle, then and assault rifle. Accurate and deadly at close range. You can connect at 500 yards, but not much energy at that range, so multipule hits MAY be required.
Easy to assemble, but you need machines to build one from scratch. Without a machine shop you're out of luck.

For long range you're better off with an M 1 Garand, or an M 14. Close in calls for a 12 ga. shotgun.
