^Worth more resale wise than any production VW of the same era, slick. Don't take my word for it check E Bay for very low mile examples. Another thing is that people thought enough of them to save them, unlike V dubs. I understand you are from a disenchanted generation, and that everything not offered here was superior, no questions asked, as you have read before in countless rags. In some cases you and they are correct, but not in all. Better do more research before generalizing too much.

No need to generalize. I specifically hate Merkin cars, and to put an extra fine point on it; I really fucking hate GM--really. I learned to hate them, not from some stoopid rags, but from actual experience. I spent four years of high school auto shop listening to dipshits talk tough about their ridiculously insipid straight-line sleds. They couldn't take a turn if their lives depended on it, and, they frequently found out the hard way that taking turns is really what driving is all about.

If I cared about resale, I'd buy fucking Beanie Babies--WGAS? I'm embarrassed just parking next to a turd like that. It lacks one single redeeming design value--a rolling boat anchor. Fake spoked-rim wheelcovers and whitewalls? I mean, come on, that's beyond ridicule--meta-tacky. Not worthy of discussion.

That would be funny. Funny because it would be so ironic. Kinda like a few feminine guys I know who drive a black Hummer H1 and another who has a 2500 4x4 Suburban.

I agree with you on the original Beetle. Great fun car. I had one as a kid. The floor rusted out so we stole a stop sign and spot welded it in place. It had a fan mounted to the dash and I had to stack newspapers on the seat to sit on as it had sunken so bad. A car with soul.
Get a Jetta. I've yet to pass a man driving a new bug without snickering a little.

I agree. There isn't a car out there, except maybe the Smart ForTwo, that is more feminine/gay than a new beetle.

It's got a fucking flower vase!
