Succesful BIOS chip hot swap
I am kind of proud of myself.
This morning I felt brave and flashed the BIOS on my perfectly good F-I90HD based HTPC from 0.11 to 0.14.
Except after reboot it gave me a "CMOS Checksum error," and refused to post video during the boot.
No matter what, no video. On, off, no video.
I was frustrated beyond belief.
And then I booted my another ( same MB) healthy PC and when it was up to the C:> prompt I have pulled out the good BIOS chip, replaced it with the bad BIOS chip and flashed it again, this time from DOS rather than Windoz.
It all worked out.
I could end up with the two dead PCs rather than one.
I ended up with two working PCs instead.
I think I am cool.
