Why not just go into Pakistan and do as we wish?
Because as has been amply demonstrated by the CIA since the Bay of Pigs through the collapse of the USSR and including the whole Iraq debacle, intelligence information can be wrong.
Now take a look at a map. Then think about this: Pakistan has about twice the land area of California and over half the population of the USA (about 160M).
How would you plan an invasion for that country? Don't forget we are already just about stretched to the max with present commitments.
Also, think about what the outcome would be to the already unstable government of Pakistan if the USA were to enter the country in-force. It would collapse and a nationalistic group would seize power and gain control of the nukes.
But let's say you just really think that killing Bin Laden is worth the risk of invading Pakistan. How will you resupply the forces?
ANYBODY who considers entering Pakistan with military force is a fucking fool. Including Bush, Obama, Clinton, and Biden.
If there was every a time for using clandestine forces or covert agents, hunting Bin Laden in Pakistan is it.
The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and that’s what I intend to reverse.
