I've never seen anyone here change their own tires but I often thought if I outfitted my trucks with a large compressor and bottle jacks I could save alot of money.
If you can make it to a deisel repair shop without tearing up your air lines, it's only about $50 to change out a tire but if they have to come out to you, add another $150.

After all, your life may depend on it.
They carry the lowest quality China products.
I remember a sticker on cheap China jack stands, that said: "Don't work under car while using these jack stands", I kid you not.
Pep Boys sells some decent jacks.
I'll check out Pep Boys, thanks.

Floor Jack, part Deux..........

Well, I had a friend who is good with hydraulics look at the jack. He pulled it apart and found............ Grit in the oil and the pump valve.
It would appear that these pumps are put together in a rather dirty environment, and filled with oil that should be a lot cleaner. There was apparently some slight scoring of the main cylinder as well, but not enough to cause any problem.
Bottom line: If you buy Craftsman, you buy hit or miss quality control. You would be better off with Blackhawk, which has FAR better quality, but since it's all steel, far more weight as well.
Thanks to those that helped or were interested....
