Well if I am reading this correctly, and I really wish there was a better tabling system [or I knen how to play with it] it looks like Bush has had a DISAPPROVAL rating OVER 60% 70% in the past nine months and Congress has had a DISAPPROVAL rating of OVER 60% 20% in that same nine months.

EDIT: good clean up of the table. That helped.

EDIT 2: I find the Unsure numbers interesting at that site. On Congress there is a consistant 12% that is Unsure whether they think they are pleased or not. With the President, that number is 2/3 which is significant as it would tend to be the same people taking the polls. They are much firmer on their opinion on the President.

To what you said above: Yes.

I think people are more certain about their opinion concerning the President because he is one man. In Congress we hold a mixed view: A general contempt for the institution as it presently behaves conflicts with a general and consistent approval of our local representation (if the high rel-election rate is taken as local approval).

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and that’s what I intend to reverse.

~ Senator Barack H. Obama

Jayhawk, dinner's ready:

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address
