It was something else watching coverage of the event. Local news professionals trying to wear their best faces covering the tragic deaths of their friends and co-workers. Not something you see every day, I certainly didn't envy their task. I was very familiar with one of the pilots, from frequently seeing his televised fly-over traffic reports. I'm sure that much of the valley feels a real sense of loss.

Bruce is dead on, whoever allowed those two choppers under 1200H an 500V needs fired from their little ATC job.
Isn't it really OJ's fault?

Ditto that. Those lives on the ground are much more valuable than those in the air!

Someone should develop a better system to take out car tires. Short range speargun/nailgun type device or something. Stop the chase as soon as possible. There was one in California recently that went on for about 50 miles.

Why analyze this? It smacks of the Princes Diana death. Truly ratings wars kill.

Accidents happen. Sure, analyse the circumstances, but whatever, accidents will still happen.

Another sad story arising from totally pathetic news seeking circumstances - trying to make a story from a trivial incident, the crew and reporters crashed their own headlines.
Starting with the silliness of the aerial chase, the news bosses deserve condemnation and a big kick up their arses!.

All the pilots of the world thank you for that remark....and the next time you fly somewhere, think about what you just wrote.......

GS meant no additional lives, what did you mean?
