WANTED: GOP Party Chairman, MUST bring own party favors

The RNC must be wondering exactly who is vetting their State Party Chairs. First we had Louisiana Chair Senator David Vitter, [R-andy] showing up in DC Madam's not so Little Black Book.

Then we have McCain's Florida CoChair Bob Allen [R-ogered] hangin in the Men's room for a little one on one with Florida's finest.

And NOW we have Rudy's South Carolina Chairman Thomal Ravenel [R-eally High] busted on Cocaine charges.

CNN) – Saying he was “deeply sorry” to his family and the state, South Carolina Treasurer Thomas Ravenel resigned from office Tuesday on the day he faces cocaine charges in court.

The former state chairman for Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani was indicted June 19 on a federal charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. He resigned the position with Giuliani last month.

Leaving the federal courthouse in Columbia after a court appearance, Ravenel said, “I’m deeply disappointed in myself for the circumstances surrounding my presence here today to due to the personal mistakes I’ve made in my life. I want to offer a heartfelt apology to South Carolina. To the people of South Carolina and to my family, I am deeply sorry.”

The 44-year-old had been suspended from his elected position by Governor Mark Sanford in the wake of the indictment. Formally stepping down, Ravenel told reporters in a soft voice, “Now in the best interest of our state, I believe I must resign the position of Treasurer of the State of South Carolina, and I have so informed the Governor, effective today.”

He took no questions as he walked to a car with his family at his side.

Tuesday was the first time Ravenel went before a judge. He has previously entered a not guilty plea through his attorneys while in rehabilitation.

Thank God this is the Family Values Party. I can't imagine what would happen if it were those loose Democrats. Maybe a blowjob or something.

This is what happens when a single political party wants to be all things for all people.

That is what happens when the public thinks what happens in the bedroom is more important than anything else...........

That is the point really. The NeoCons have been trying for the past bunch of years [since Newt's Contract] to try and define personal "morals" to attempt to inject certain "morals" into law and to castigate those who did not tow the line.

It then proves ironic that we have this parade of NeoCons that have found that they have lost their moral compass after years of trying to punish those who did not meet their “high standards”.

It is not the public’s interest in what people do in their bedrooms [or public restrooms] it is what a line of hypocrites do as they fall from perceived grace.

Now THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT.

So far we have been able to avoid that here - where we go nuts is if any of the above happens on the public dime

If our PM got blown by Lewinski - we don't care - if he took her to MickeyD's on the public tab - then we'd roast his nuts :-)

In some ways that is a much better system. Bill Maher said the Europeans expect their leaders to have affairs. If they don't it suggests they aren't good at multitasking.
