This is a basis fundamental human right, which should receive full federal protections--period. I cannot in good conscience, support someone who holds views contrary to that position. I believe most small 'L' libertarians would feel the same. I find his foreign policy positions to be nearly completely aligned with my own, but on this particular personal freedom issue, and a whole myriad of domestic policy issues, we're in deep-deep disagreement.

The truth is, I'm not suggesting anyone else withdraw their support. Rather, I'm just providing a little sunlight on an area I find difficult to justify for someone who claims to be an upholder of libertarian positions. Caveat emptor
You won't get an argument from me. I get it. I also believe that there as many on the other side of this issue that are just as passionate as you, and also feel it is not a state's issue. Still, he is honest about his position, lays it out there, and kowtows to no one. And while I disagree with him on this particular issue, I applaud his honesty, his integrity and the fact that he won't sell out in order to gain popular support. Carpe datum.

I hope you'll appreciate that I've withheld my fire for quite some time, while you've been advocating for the guy. I like him. I like a lot of what he has to say, and I'm glad he's running. Maybe, the two of us can think of this as his personal corvair issue.

You have made intelligent points. There is no "perfect" candidate. I feel like I can trust this guy which says a lot! I have only deeply researched him just today!

I knew you had been biting your tongue for a while now, although I figured it might be due to Paul's strong capitalistic free-market bent.

I've been over the Corvair thing for a while now. The only time I've torn into Nader over that during the last couple of years, is after you suggested it.

If Paul can somehow make it fashionable to reduce the size and scope of our overblown federal government, make people see the light behind his foreign policy positions, and how those positions intersect with the notion behind small government, I'll accept almost any second tier issue on which we might not agree.

As far as your boy Ralph goes, last I heard, he was actually talkin' up Bloomberg some...

"Carpe datum" is from YOUR post (# 71?), not mine. And NO that's NOT Crap Data. Crap Data is what you have been trying to feed us here in regard to your favorite candidate, Ron the BS artist, Paul. He is definitely Crap, and his/your "Data" is even worse. IMO!
