Hey cascade, don't sell yourself short, that diatribe in post # 7 works BOTH ways, Libby is a Republican, but I'll bet that if even YOU put a little effort into it you can find a Democrap that follows just exactly the same path you're so quick to vilify.
Libby was and is a fall guy because your troops weren’t competent enough to get to Bush or Cheney, and likely never will be. You should be ashamed that this was the best that you could do.
We have Jefferson on the hook, how do you like that?

You misapprehend my stance. It's the conduct I deplore and those who place political partisanship and economic interest above the proper legal and moral concern.

Whether one agrees with them or not, Barry Goldwater and Ron Paul are real moral ethical titans compared to many around them. Barry Goldwater was crucified the sam way that John Kerry was, and like Kerry never really got a fair shake. LBJ and George W Bush, was the result, and what a price that was....

There is plenty of sleaze and corruption on BOTH sides of the political fence, but when one addresses one side, that discussion isn't enhanced by pointing out the other side does it too.

You want to discuss Jefferson? Fine, it's another good example of sleaze, that is indefensible and DEMOCATIC and he is not alone.

Suppose you did, and all I did was cite another Republican (John Doolittle comes to mind as he is from here) that wouldn't illuminate much about Jefferson.
I love it that Jefferson is on the hook.

The reason the Democrats couldn't "GET" (your words) Clinton/Cheney seems to be a small cadre of Republican fanatics are defending him, putting partisanship above all else to maintain their political power and agenda.

There are Democrats, unfortunately, who would do the SAME thing were the situation reversed.

My difficulty with you is that your discussion seems purely driven by political partisanship above all else. That is what I really don't like

I am not registered with either party. I judge on the issue. From what I have seen, for instance, my views on Illegal immigration are identical to yours, for example.

Libby's case is on appeal.

What effect would it have if ....

1. The conviction is upheld.

2. The conviction is overturned.

My opinion: No effect.

People who see Libby as an example of a corrupt threat to democracy will be unchanged by a guilty verdict and if the case is overturned, they will see it as vindication of their belief in a corrupt system.

People who see Libby as an example of a miscarriage of justice will be unchanged by a guilty verdict and if the case is overturned, they will see it as vindication of their belief in a in a miscarriage of justice.

In either case, both halvs of teh Republicrats will use whatever the final result, as a fundraising tool.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and that’s what I intend to reverse.
