The Republicans have already abondened him along with the rest of the world. This pretty much gives him a ticket to do whatever he wants. NOW THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS! He will now run our country into the ground! He needs to be stopped. That is why I always say that IMPEACHMENT process should atleast be started for both Cheney and Bush so atleast they will be occupied with that process. This will save our country somewhat from further destruction as they will have their hands full with the impeachment process. Rumsfeld should also be brought to justice. Bush has not accomplished one thing in his life or done one thing right in his presidency. He has always been a looser. I believe he will be the most hated president of the US. History will also show it. I wonder how he sleeps at night. He probably doesn't and that's why he makes mistakes after mistake the whole time he is awake. Maybe if he dumped his SKANK wife and actually got laid once in a blue moon, he may do a better job. What a stupid monkey! As far as the security of this country is concerned, he has made America and Americans more unsafe than we were on 9-11. Bush has HIMSELF created tens of thousand, maybe hundreds of thousands of terrorists. The number 1 enemy to the United States are not the terrorists, nor any other country. The number 1 enemy of the United States and Americans is the Bush administration. Yet nether the Republicans nor the Democrats have gone after them. Just goes to show you that both parties don't give a shit.
I agree with most of that, except about the terrorists - they are the bigger threat. President Bush will be gone in two years. A swarming, angry, bunch of terrorists, (his legacy) won't be.

And never mind about his wife, that is not relevant.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and thats what I intend to reverse.

Unsurprisingly to me, there is a growing 3rd party mass movement. 2004 gave it a significant boost. It is very unorganized and is definitely not a movement in the sense of having direction. Rather, it is a movement through repulsion -- the two dominant parties are so repulsive that voters are increasingly voting with their butts (staying home) or voting 3rd party.

Like increasing numbers are doing, I took the 3rd party path in 2004 and found it extraordinarily liberating not to be stuck in the false belief that there are only two choices possible. There are always more choices, it just takes the will to do it.

I cannot imagine voting for a Demopublican ever again. And looking at the roster of dwarves presented for the next election, I am happy with that decision.

Was my comment directed at you? Are you Shane? All this bluster just to avoid answering a simple question? Is dispassionate discourse not on your menu today?

Here it is a third time:
...I suspect that if we remove the ME from the equation, your views on this subject are more in line with mine than those of Shane... You don't support our massive military presence in Japan, S. Korea, and Europe any more than I do, isn't that right?

Yeah, they voted over 98% for SADDAM in elections, too. Isn't democracy wonderful?

Annie, they voted in elections where political parties were outlawed, and one third of the voters abstained due to their objections of us forcing this on them at gunpoint. Their "government" with its CPA dictated constitution is a joke, which is why they cannot get anyone to die for it except for American Sucker Troops.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

It nice you all live in a place where you have a right to be wrong. Or more accurately, to be fucking blind.

Thomas Jefferson founded the Democratic National Committee in 1792. He said to tell you "fuck you".

Back on topic, I thought Froomkin had some good things to say in his op-ed today:

Quote:
It's true that the Constitution grants the president unlimited clemency and pardon power. But presidents have generally used that power to show mercy or, in rare cases, make political amends -- not to protect themselves from exposure.

The Framers, ever sensitive to the need for checks and balances, recognized the potential for abuse of the pardon power. According to a Judiciary Committee report drafted in the aftermath of the Watergate crisis: "In the [Constitutional] convention George Mason argued that the President might use his pardoning power to 'pardon crimes which were advised by himself' or, before indictment or conviction, 'to stop inquiry and prevent detection.' James Madison responded:

"[I]f the President be connected, in any suspicious manner, with any person, and there be grounds [to] believe he will shelter him, the House of Representatives can impeach him; they can remove him if found guilty. . . .

"Madison went on to [say] contrary to his position in the Philadelphia convention, that the President could be suspended when suspected, and his powers would devolve on the Vice President, who could likewise be suspended until impeached and convicted, if he were also suspected."
Dan Froomkin - Obstruction of Justice, Continued - washingtonpost.com

I am in full agreement. Impeachment procedings need to commence, just to distract these power-hungry dogs in the administration from doing any more damage to the office and the country.

I fear the American public no longer has the stomach to sacrifice what is needed in order to maintain their postion or lifestyle. They will probably change their mind when the damage is done. This is just my 2 cents, it is an opinion and it is bound to change again as needed. I think W and crew have degraded the office of president, but I do agree with the fight for oil, stability and control in the middle east. The majority of people over there would be better off in a working democracy than under a repressive regime. It is a win/win scenario if the American public can think beyond the immediate sadness.
We all agree that they would be better under a democracy, anyone would be. Where we disagree is on whether or not a democracy under their current development as a society or in their imposed nationstate is possible, and if not, if it is worth the sacrifice of our young people to attempt to do so. Your other idea, that we need to use the blood and lives of our children for oil, is an inherently fascist idea, an odious idea, depraved and utterly disgusting idea steeped in greed and avarice. Have a nice day.
