What's the point of thinking for yourself, really? Why not just let someone else do all that heavy cogitating and stuff. There are so many re-runs to watch, and so little time in the day. Just wake me up when the election is over.

Listen furly friend you can enjoy your Nirvana all you want.

Real thing is either Dems or Reps are going to win.

You can despise them both and sit on your nice fence but by the end of the day it is a winner who takes it all.

LOL, I checked out my family tree and it turns out I descend from Julius Caesar.

Or his cat.

It is unclear yet which one.

If you're happy with ineptitude and mediocrity, then Tweedledee and Tweedledum are perfectly fine for you. Me, I place my sacred right to vote much closer to my inherent right to think, feel and act upon my desire for positive change. I prefer not to vote for my oppressors. I suspect the founders would prefer it that way, as well.

So keep your finger in your pants, don't show it to anybody.

As of the founders, they would do something I believe instead of sitting on the fence and having fun with their fingers.

What does the board think it would really require for a legitimate THIRD PARTY to actually win an election in this country, not just siphon a few percentage points off the party that is most likely closest to its core beliefs?

Right now the only Third Parties that have hit the voter radar have actually skimmed points off the majority party with which they are most closely aligned, throwing the election to the opposition, which seems counterintuitive to all political logic. Is the desire to “make a point” really more important than defeating the party of which you have the most opposition?

To that end who would make the Ball Breaker Independent Party that could actually grab enough points [and it would have to be in the, at least 34% range] to defeat both party machines?

1. A great candidate with an appealing small government message that doesn't stink of business as usual.

2. An enormous personal bankroll

3. An unprecedented, widespread loathing of our two political parties

So far, one of these conditions appears to have been met.
