Cap'n James,

Sincere apologies are in order for my earlier comments which were based on the false assumption that you may be another of the 'sad' souls who regularly post here! Without any doubt, that is certainly not the case and thank you for clearing my ignorance in this respect as you are an Officer and a Gentleman indeed!
With the air hopefully cleared, I still tend to think that there may be some bias in your views with regard to the nominations for the 'wonder boy' to lead Iraq out of the current mess - would it not be the exclusive right of the PEOPLE of Iraq to decide on this rather than external influences directing them? Why are we so keen to instil "democracy" in Iraq when you have such friendly relations with the most undemocratic nation on the face of the planet - Saudi next door!
Also, I await eagerly to have views on the current fiasco in Afghanistan!

Poonjabber,

In what ways should treatment of one nation dictate how we treat another nation?

How would you define "fairness" in international relations?

Ali bin Al-Hussein remained an opponent of the rule of dictator Saddam Hussein. In 1991, he quit his job managing investment funds and became a member of the Iraqi National Congress which was to purpose of fomenting the overthrow of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
let me present to you: Ahmed Chalabi.
