Out of that comes a grand for the rent or house payment, leaving 600 bucks to pay for everything else. Food prices are WAY up for these people in relation to their incomes. Gas prices are a huge burden. Local taxes, which is where all of Bush's supposed 'tax cuts' have actually ended up, are murder.
If you are only making $15 an hour then maybe you should consider moving someplace less expensive than ~$1k a month.

Not sure how you are trying to equate the tax cuts to the situation these people are in. I see no parallel.

For the most part an accurate statement. There are of course exceptions to the rule and some polls are rather well put together.

If any of you have ever been polled you will know what I am talking about. They are often filled with leading questions, qualifying questions, etc.

Before the accusation is repeated this applies to all polls whether or not the outcome supports or or works against a point of view I currently hold.

The day of the entrepreneur is gone. The way the economy, laws and tax's affect us these days are depressing. The real question is how does one make a better way for them selves starting from scratch. I sure as hell know, that I was born into poverty, and after 15 years of working hard I'm not doing to bad for my self for being single and no kids. Now whats next, retirment plans, investments, 401K's?

In my opinion the economy is no longer set up for the small guy to win. You spend half your life, if your where Im from, trying to get yourself on your feet. By then, your doing ok. Now its time to increase your income. Where do you go from here? Well, starting a store front business is alot tuffer these days or any business for that matter.

Investments are great, but if your starting from where Im from, you would have to let go of something like 20% of your annual income to see a return. The less you make, the more you should save, the more you make the less of a percentage of that income you have to save. How can some one save any kind of money when companies are struggling, employees are struggling so consumers are struggling.

Hows does this economy in general pic back up, because when the cost of FOOD and TRAVEL go up and your income stays the same, your basicly f*cked.
