How about looking at the fact that there is already an infrastructure to support the production and distribution of corn based ethanol. How about the fact that we grow significant amounts of corn. How about the fact that we pay our farmers not to grow corn. Or how about the fact that there is more farmable land to produce corn than there is Sugar Cane for instance.
You guys on this board crack me up. You know if Bush said we were going to use Sugar Cane vs. corn you would all be screaming how he was replacing our dependence on foreign oil with dependence on foreign Sugar Cane.
Well, let me see...........
Corn is used in cow feeds, so it is now more expensive so the price of BEEF will increase significantly now. Milk in the east coast is more than $4.00, was only $1.89 three years ago. WOW a gallon of milk is now costing more than a gallon of PREMIUM gasoline! Corn is used in cereals so the price of cereals is going up. Pretty much most all foods will go up, corn syrup in soft drinks , etc and the list goes on and on.
Here's an idea, how about we just keep on buying oil from the East and work on alternative energy development projects in the mean time and change our foreign policy instead?
If Bush and his mafia gang are using the Ethanol-idea to decrease our dependence on oil, God help us. What are they going to do about the price of food, import it from Mexico so then Mexico would get into a position to dictate? Or probably what the Bush admin is thinking is , "Yeah, lets starve our hard-working American people to death, which would decrease the population and further decrease our dependence on oil. We can blame it on the terrorists as the American public will believe it as it is too stupid to think for itself. Kinda like we made a false case in order to attack an innocent sovereign nation....IRAQ! Hehehehehe" I wouldn't put that past Bush.
Ethanol is NOT the answer but I do belive that Diesel might be and they run much cleaner than before.
