Oh stop your whinging. You are just jealous of GERMANY.

All Cologne registered cars a few years ago got number plates beginning with KUT, which is Dutch for the worst word in the world.

While you are slotting a RAMMSTEIN CD into yor Grundig, lighting up your West, and sipping your Beck's you know what you like.

Aside from Brahms, Bach, Beethoven, Handel and Haydn, what better music is there than NENA singing "99 Red Balloons"?

You know the Germans gave us the globe, printing presses, X-rays, Levi Strauss, Bunsen Burners and the telescope.

In sports, their players make yours look disabled. And that goes not only in football, but in tennis, motgor racing, gliding, invading Poland and skiing.

Their food is rubbish, but they made SA80 rifles and don't forget Heckler and Koch. The Bentley, Mini, Rolls Royce, Range Rover, Bugatti, Lamborghini, all Chryslers, are all German now.

They like clubs too. There is in Cologne a club called The Society for the appreciation of the Irish Postal Service

auf wiedersehen

He was smarter than Bush and didn't lie as much as Bush does.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
