What is this shit about drinking and driving?
Any less motor accidents in the Muslim countries which are alcohol free ?
Plus the wife is doped up on opium for arthritic pains and voluntarily has decided to stop driving, but she could still do so legally,
Plus all the illict drugs they cannot test for
plus tiredness
plus geriatric drivers, ( and i'm getting there )
plus some mentally incompetent dicks & dickesses driving.
Plus inappropriate speed
Perhaps irresponsible younger drivers are a menace, but with age, experience and the sense to drive slower and anticipate, not a big problem, I know & know of quite a few in the rural community who have been driving "drunk" for years and NEVER have had an accident.
Perhaps instead of testing for % blood alcohol, they should test for mental alertness, reaction times, physical dexterity etc, ie competence to drive regardless of what is in ones bloodstream.
All it needs is a modifed computer "game" a bit like the hazard preception test that is currently part of our current theory test prior to the driving test.
Cheers

Talking Driving!

Driving to the office this morning on the M25 motorway, I looked Over to my right and there was a woman in a brand new BMW doing 110 miles per hour with her face up close to her rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner! I Looked away for a couple of seconds and when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane still working on that makeup!

It scared me (and this coming from a bloke....) so much that I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the chicken tikka masala roll out of my other hand. In all the confusion of trying to straighten up the car using my knees against the steering wheel, it knocked my mobile from my ear, which fell into the chilli-coffee between my legs, causing it to splash and burn BIG JIM AND THE TWINS, causing me to scream, which made me drop the cigarette out of
my mouth, ruined my shirt and DISCONNECTED AN IMPORTANT CALL.
F***ing WOMEN Drivers!!!!!!!

Well my first girlfriends ( i.e. a few years ago ) older sister routinely applied her make up during her drive from Claudy to Derry each morning, fewer cars on the road then, I can "name & shame" if you want.
Cheers
Marcus
PS
Dont drink and drive
you might spill some.

The last time I went to a rural area there was close to no traffic other than myself.

While I agree with you that all should be tested (although not practical thing) getting drunk drivers off the road means one less thing we have to worry about.

The drunks in our rural district seem to have an easy time finding a nice large tree or phone pole. Guess your rural roads are all straight and treeless with underground utilities....or I guess us Yanks can't handle our liquor.
