President Bush prepares for possible Supreme Court vacancy

Wouldn't it be great if he could put another conservative judge on the court before the end of his term? He wants a woman or a minority, which is fine, but I wish he'd just go for the best possible person--maybe like Thomas or Roberts.

A man who has not noticed the Democrats now control the Senate. The odds of that are about the same as me farting 'Dixie'.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

OTOH, a big brouhaha before the election would likely energize the Repo faithful, if a sufficiently 'conservative' female & minority judge were nominated.

We already know the Democratic party's record when it comes to minority nominations and such. I'm not speaking of just Supreme Court nominations, either.

Yes, this 30% of the electorate needs a boost. Even the Thompson thing is going south:

Union Leader - NH Presidential Primary

A man of little accomplishment who doesn't like to work very hard. That's what we have now. Who wants some more?

Yes, it is fantastic, isn't it?

Calling the democrat party democratic is a misnomer in the extreme!
