You notice that very few if any Dems have protested Afghanistan. Do you wonder why? Protests against Iraq are based on the principles that it was started on false pretense, run poorly and is now nothing but a police action that will continue until we cut the apron strings with the new Iraqi government that we cobbled together. It is not "cut and run" it is simply finding an appropriate time to leave. And that time is now. The "cut and run" buzz is misguided rovespeak at best.
but do you really want to raise all these taxes such as Edward and Clinton has claimed they are for?? Do you really want to beat up on the so called rich and the so called big business that employs so many. If the Dems have their way i will cut 10% of my work force right away and take a trip to Asia to see what i can save by having them do some of our piece work.
You are protesting taxes of which you don't even know the nature. Do you also protest the $600Billion annual tax that pays JUST for the National Debt that is paying for your tax cuts that you want to protect?
You make an assumption that you have to cut 10% of your work force and move work to PacRim. On what do you base 10%? Don't make assumptions based on the spinmiester's churn that keeps regurgitating years old propaganda.
Ok, bring our troops home on some form of reduction in forces if you must, but lets not hurt the economy here at home that has kept unemployment way down. Employment here in the states is good for everyone but i'm not against free trade either as long as its not by goverment forcing us to go elsewhere to maintain a profit!
In the past 6 years 20% of ALL manufacturing jobs have disappeared in the US and moved offshore. Per capita wages are down although total wages are up based on total number of workers [adding in the 14-20M illegals]. Tax breaks have come at the expense of $5Trillion in Trade Deficits and an additional $5Trillion in National Debt which have helped take up the slack for the tax breaks [the money for the tax breaks to "fuel the economy" has to come from somewhere]. The dollar is at record lows and the US economy is now Number 3 in the world behind China and the EU.
With that said, our Country is getting ready to have the largest group of employees in its history [the boomers] start retiring at massive rates, moving them from revenue generators [taxpayers] to revenue receivers [social security, medicare]. If all else remained equal there would need to be changes in tax structure just to accommodate that MAJOR element that is changing. Add to the changes in investment funds where boomers will switch from aggressive growth funds to safer retirement funds and again less revenue will be generated into the Treasury system. Further add the massive debt structure that has been incurred in the past six years that will have to be addressed if the country is to restore the dollar and start balancing the trade deficits and you can easily see that there are going to be changes to the tax system no matter who is running the budget. And none of that takes into account your fear of massive socialism.
Lets see what Freddy has to offer. Hillary is just too dangerous! come on FTL feel the love for Freddy
So, who has laid their balls out on the table to address these economic issues that are coming up? Most won't do so as they fear that even mentioning raising taxes will cause them to lose the election.
I would like to hear a Conservative that is willing to address this. It is reality. It is here and it is not going away. So far the only "conservative" economic plan I have seen has been Bush's runaway spending.
