Thumbs up Test-drove a Z4 3.0si coupe -- Impressions

Here's a link to a thread on my impressions from a BMW board.

Overall, I really liked it.

Have you driven one? What did you think?

My girlfriend "says" she wants a Z4 but when I find one in the paper for sale, she refuses to even look at it. I wish she would because I wouldn't mind test driving one either.

She likes the looks of the SLK and if she ever does buy a sporty convertible, I hope I can convince her to choose a Mercedes over a BMW.

I cannot think of an uglier car than a Z4 coupe. The convertiible Z4 is close, but the coupe is just plain nasty, and I actually have an open mind about cars. Why not get the coupe in army drab green as I saw one in Dallas that way. Then you will have one of the ugliest cars in the ugliest color made. Also when you buy the Z4 coupe also buy a Monte Carlo, and a Ridgeline and park them all in your driveway and watch your neighbors produce uncontrollable projectile vomiting everytime they walk past or even glance.

Just like I said in my thread, guys, I know the looks of this car are love or hate and that's one of the things I like about it. I happen to think it's one of the most beautiful cars out there. Honest.

Frankly I hate Bangle and the shit he did to BMW. One of the cornerstones to BMW's foundation used to be form follows function, but Bangle et al made function follow form. One the otherhand I refused to buy another SLK model after my SLK32 because of the heinous nose job on the current SLK55.

Styling is really going downhill since manufactuers are making higher sided cars due to a combo of aerodynamics, safety, and interior volume.
