There even was a pal, who at one time worked for IBM in NZ, and used to be either NZ snooker champion, or came in second.
Great player, I once watched him run a 120 + points on a full size 6 x 12 Riley.

The billiard rooms you describe are a distant memory down my way.
Yes we had them - and I enjoyed their atmosphere when younger - but they are no more, and even the 3 tables at my club are only casually played on.
I've had a good Friday - cheers! - and now that my local time is 9pm, mine is near used up but certainly was not wasted.
