This is one of the few shows I've seen us rip off from BBC that is done either on-par or better than the original.

I think it's very different. The original is certainly drier.

I love the original, but I love dry humor anyway. Americans, as a rule, are too dim or self-conscious to laugh at dry comedy...they need the prompting and comfort of a laugh track that tells them "Yes, that part was supposed to be funny, you can laugh now."

I thought "Whose Line is it Anyways" was pretty well done, but it got way overexposed.

Of course the best guys on the US version were on the original, so that's half the battle, right?

In the vein of this thread, I for one could care less. Never watched it, couldn't stand it or the Don.

I liked the US version of the Whose Line much more.

I'm kind of disappointed to see the Apprentice gone from the line up. It's not that I overly enjoyed it, I know the ratings weren't that good, but I just wanted to see what tasks he gave and how well the people did. Basically, I liked the show, minus the Donald.

I tend to think that how the contestants performed in that show, whether they did well or not, is an example of how not to lead or work in a team. I wouldn't be surprised if a lecture in Harvard Business School, Wharton, or Kellog showed clips of "The Apprentice" as examples of atrocious type-A management fiasco.

The Apprentice had a chance to reward performance and demonstrate the superiority of a meritocracy, and failed. It instead chose to pander to the Limbaugh contingency - cigar-smoking, scotch-swilling, elderly poseurs, nouveau riche, executive degenerates, and their young sycophantic protege', making a spectacle of self-absorbed men who would suck Hillary's dick for a job working with Trump and women who would have been in porn were they not marginally smarter than most of the girls who looked like they did in high school. If you're going to air soft-porn reality television, you'll have to do better than Big Brother and Survivor in content to overcome the completely un-photogenic and un-endearing Donald Trump. Nobody can relate to any of those people, even remotely. It was like watching a train wreck happen every week. Good riddance to it. Let's see one of the big three or four put together something the caliber of Planet Earth for a change.

Alright you limeys...

Has "The Green Wing" made it back to air over there? The last episode we were treated to on BBC America had the 'lead' character and his mate hanging over what looked like the cliffs of Dover in a stolen ambulance; this following his realization that the complete slut he was shagging was in fact his long since estranged mother all along. Has there been another season of it since?

The American version of 'The Office' was shit.

American's just can't do comedy; slapstick yes; comedy, rarely.

The English are masters at comedy, Aussie's not far behind.
