Everyone I know who saw that said Thompson looked like a fool. What the fuck is up with the Cuban cigar he was smoking and reports he buys them by the case? Sounds pretty damn hypocritical to me. He sure does look like this fucking idiot:

He is. That is why Thompson's action seem so poorly thought out - he does Moore a favor by increasing the publicity for the film, while risking looking like an idiot, which I think he managed to pull off. Thompson should have just ignored him. Moore is not a politician, he does not have a voter base, he's just a gadfly. Really brings a question about the quality of Thompson's judgement.
