It's a bit different here in L.A. If you would blindfold someone from say the midwest, and drop them in a number of Los Angeles neighborhoods, they would swear they were in some banana Republic instead of the U.S.

As a current employee of of Sam Walton Inc.---Over the last seven years I have seen some pretty shady $hit go on at the logistical level. I have never seen a company run the way it is, the worst being how they use the employees for their tax breaks. They say that they donate so much money and they get it wrote off but it was really contributions by the employees themselves. The next thing is true as well about them getting rid of the employees if they have been there a long time, believe me I know my days are numbered there and feel that i have a bulls eye on me at all times (good thing i have another full time job!) They do pay well at the Distribution level and for 18$ an hour in FL for unskilled manual labor, that is not bad. It just is not reliable, one day they might send you home half way through the day when you are supposed to get 12 hours......If anyone has seen what bad deeds they do I have.

case in point--there was a manager that hit an accociate with a forklift and had should have gone to the hospital, they persuaded him not to do so and sent him home. The next week when he came back in still limping but needed the money, they fired him for some small thing that they found on him. He then decided to go to the hospital to recieve medical treatment and it was hard to get in due to the firing. he got a lawyer they rehired him but then fired him shortly after he got better.
This is how they work. They want you not to recieve medical attention for occurences that should recieve medical attention and cohearse you to go back to work and walk it off for fear you might lose your job. ok there is my rant
