To a certain degree Yes, but if he needs to liberally interpret a passage to keep these assholes locked up, then I say the US is lucky he is in there.

Liberal taken to an extreme, to be sure. And we thought these cretins were conservative.

Either your attempted irony is poorly drawn or you have a fundamental lack of understanding of the separation of power in the US government.

What was your point then? I do appreciate the irony, but what does Gone-zales have to do with interpreting the Constitution? Last I checked he was busy ensuring the Republicans would maintain judicial power in perpetuity.

Yeah I know what you mean, it was 1 of many factors I weighed in deciding late last year to stay in Indonesia rather than relocate back to the States.

Yes but dont you have your own homegrown threats there? A very large Islamic Fundamentalists population looking for any way to disrupt western style beliefs? i.e Bali bombing and the like? How does it effect your day to day?

It does not effect me or my wife at all. I have lived here for 18 years now and after that much time you learn to use a little common sense when traveling around and such. 70% of our financial holdings are in nearby Singapore and the Indonesians talk a big game but when it comes to walking the walk the only way they can do it is if they out number the opposing side 10 to 1. I am retired since Sept. 05 and I do not have to worry about making it to the office on time or such so we do whatever we want. And when we do travel to Bali we always go to some retreats we know that are very special and at least a couple hours out side of Denpasar away from the tourists.
