New GOP front-runner...

...in the GermanStar household: Congressman Ron Paul. I'm watching the GOP debate, and this guy isn't getting much time, but he sure has my attention. The only other guy who's impressing me so far is Mitt Romney.

He does seem to be the only one who is not a lap diving, gonad licking whore for votes with real ideas based on conservative principles. Jim

And he ends the debate by backhanding the Bush administration for its attacks on personal freedom and habeas corpus. This guy absolutely rocks!

I'm going to wait and read the transcripts. I'm to impatient to put up with either of these eight spoke circle jerks. With transcripts I can see what they said, without the posturing.

Is this Paul guy Mrs Paul's husband. I like her fishsticks.

He was kind of like the Republican Party's version of the Democrat Gravel. He was very straightforward and actually made sense, while he didn't get hysterical or lose control, or get cornered and have to back track or writhe around. I thought he was quite a breath of fresh air from the GOP. Jim

Of course he's going to backhand them. How else will a Republican have an ice cube's chance on an Arizona highway of getting elected if they don't?

You'd be surprised then. Every other candidate was kissing the current administration's ass to some degree... Dr. Paul distanced himself from GW more than any other participant in the debate -- by far.

I thought Rudy came across as kind of a douche-bag (when I was mayor this, when I was mayor that, blah, blah, blah...), but Mitt seemed and acted very presidential, and answered every question that came his way.
