How do you tell the good guys from the bad guys, they come in all colors and nationalities in case you didn't notice..... Most don’t have Al Qaeda written on their foreheads.
Through covert foreign intelligence operations, intelligence sharing with our allies, and shoring up our borders. Several of the 9/11 hijackers were known terrorists; their entry into our country was our failure, and one that has been subsequently addressed in regard to intelligence sharing between the CIA and various U.S. law enforcement agencies. Is it a perfect solution? Of course not -- there is no perfect solution. But given the reality of the situation back in 2001, it would have been a completely rational course of action that wouldn't have divided our country, divided the world, fanned the flames of terrorism, and needlessly cost hundreds of thousands of lives. Had we thrown all of our resources at running down the 9/11 perps and securing our borders, I believe that we'd be much better off than we are today.

Isn't it interesting how crystal clear everything is in hindsight, and how easy it is for you pro-terrorists to Blame America First. Get over it!

Don't believe everything you think

Yes, I support going after the folks responsible for the 9/11 attack and you do not. That makes me the pro-terrorist. The flawless logic of a true savant.

GS, that's a bunch of nonsense. The way the laws were set up then one agency WAS NOT ALLOWED TO TALK TO ANOTHER, and you know that. You can thank the Dumbocraps in big part for that bit of legislation.
Hindsight is great isn't it, and you have lots to work with. The facts are that the Canadian border is even more porous then the Mexican Border, coming through there is easy, I’ve done it myself when I was a kid, without knowing it. It’s not much different now. Whatever happened to the fence or wall down South? Looks like Kennedy and other’s have put the crimp on that haven’t they. Have you written to your Congress people to state your views on that, I doubt it……
As to covert intelligence, that was gutted years ago when they decided that satellites were the way to go. It takes decades to get something reasonable on line again and didn’t one of our Presidents say we can’t deal with shady people while we do that?
You can believe all you like, but again the fact are that we did not do this for any of a number of reasons:
“But given the reality of the situation back in 2001, it would have been a completely rational course of action that wouldn't have divided our country, divided the world, fanned the flames of terrorism, and needlessly cost hundreds of thousands of lives. This whole mess was set up by a President that treated everything like a police action and did nothing when he had the chance. That could have been through stupidity or just plain ignorance of the facts. I tend to believe he had the facts, but just didn’t believe them, or take them seriously.
You people like to blame Bush for all of this, but there is more than enough blame to go around, and it started well before Bush took office.

What's a bunch a nonsense? You've just agreed with me, then called it a bunch of nonsense. Can you explain that please?

Someone besides Bush and company blamed Iraq for 9/11, even before 9/11 occurred? Can you explain that please? 'Cause that's what this whole conversation is about -- the breathtaking stupidity of invading Iraq.

I agree with little that you say, because it is so biased. I do not agree with you now.

My points are simple: secure our borders and get those responsible for the 9/11 attack. Bush & Co. feel these issues are unimportant and placed them on the back burner. If you are arguing my points, you must believe that we live in a better and safer world with Al Qaeda up and running and porous borders, as long as we're still kicking over anthills in Iraq. Sorry, but we're just never going to agree on those points.......

So when I refer to an intelligence failure, it's a bunch of nonsense, but when you refer to the exact same intelligence failure, it's not a bunch of nonsense. 'Cause that's exactly what you did. And that makes sense to you?
