Re: the graphic images issue, am I the only one here who went thru a "driver's ed" course as a teenager that basically consisted of hours of old videos of people being impaled on steering columns and bodies being excavated from cars before we were allowed to do our road lessons?

And as others have noted-- doesn't matter whether it was a big or a small car; no passenger vehicle could have protected its occupants in a crash like this.

Respect must certainly be given to those in the images and even the family of those involved however interestingly enough wingless has had nothing further to say than the quick jab at this - what I consider to be an informative and educational thread. If only people knew how to vent there non related personal issues through the relevant channels -

I feel really sorry for this guy & his family, its so sad to see people die this way and this could happen to any one of us. Anyway the car is definately a fox but I'm not sure this happend in Europe and those are most certainly not French plates. I would guess its some south american country eg. Brazil (the Fox is also produced there and then shipped over to Europe).

Regarding publishing graphic images....

I was working in Eastern Europe (Czech Republic) about 10 years back, and I saw on the TV news some footage of a ghastly highway pile up during a winter black ice & fog situation. About 100 cars were wrecked.

The local newreels showed the crushed cars being towed away with the dead passengers clearly still inside them.

I told my Czech colleagues that I was shocked by this TV footage, which would not have been allowed by the BBC, and I was told that it was deliberately done to improve driver 'awareness' of careful driving. Fair enough, I now believe.

Instead of this thread being deleted, I would rather see "wingless" deleted. Not only is this the right place to show it but IT SHOULD BE SHOWN EVERYWHERE to teach the kids and young adults a lesson.
Lesson #1: Don't drive like an ass, otherwise this will be you.
Lesson #2: Don't get a small car to be "COOL" rather, GET A SAFE CAR especially for someone 25 years old and younger until they have some years of driving experience behind them and have developed the proper reflexes of driving safe.

Stupid posts like these just piss me off!

^^Agree

For contrast, here is a story about a guy whose subaru was crushed between 2 trucks and he escaped with minor injuries:

"Happened yesterday on rt-83N in Harrisburg. Tractor trailer (speeding?!?) carrying 45,000 gallons of {unknown liquid} rear ended me on the highway, traffic was stopped/backing up. The truck drove up the back of my wrx and pushed me into and underneath the stopped tractor trailer in front of me.

It took firecrews about 30+ mins to extract me from the wreck. They cut the driver door and driver side a frame, the rest was destroyed in the wreck.

They took me to the Trauma unit, got looked over, and was released a couple of hours later. "
