I have continually asked that question and received no answer. We can't lose a war that has never really been a war - it is an occupation, not a war. They call the people of the country who are fighting those occupying their country, the same thing we would do if we were occupied, "terrorists". Then they claim they are figting a "war on terror" because the sons and fathers of the people we murdered are resisting us are "terrorists". It is all utter bullshit. We are occupying a country against its will. We have killed thousands and thousands of innocent men, women and children for reasons that proved false. This is not a "war", any more than Hitler's occupation of Poland was a war with Poland. It is an indigenous people resisting a jackboot invasion, waged by a country that had no real reason to murder, rape and torture them. It is only a "war" to the cowards that need that nomenclature to support their twisted way of using fear and murder to achieve power by appealing to American patriotism, and spin everything, even the death of Pat Tillman, so that it sounds like evil is good and wrong is right. They are simply skillful liars who have been found out at their game. People are not buying this shit anymore.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
