Again it is YOU that doesn't understand the U.S. Constitution, maybe you should read it before you jump to your misguided conclusions.
The Second Amendment was created because the framers of the Constitution were afraid of a "standing Army, the bain of a free society." The idea was that every fre man be armed to insure that the government could NOT overrun the people of the U.S.

They had licensing in Germany before WW II, and in England as well, and for the same reasons, they didn't trust the people to "allow" the governments to control what was happening to them. You probably don't recall, but as WW II was starting, England came to the U.S. begging the private citizens for ANY weapon they could have to hold off the German invasion they thought was coming. The private citizens sent thousnds of guns over as a loan, and a few actually came back after the war was over. Then the British Government turns around and takes all the guns away again....... The crime rate is going up again isn't it.......
Most States HAVE a waiting period for firearms, some are stricter then others, Virginia doesn' have one, but the guns were bought over a month ago, well beyound any waiting period, in any State, that I'm aware of.
Point of interest: There have been cases where if a peoson were allowed to have a firearm quickly, they would be alive today, and the husband, or other purp. would be dead, and not in jail.

Actually it does infringe quite grievously. It gives the government a ready data base to pull weapons from private citizens on a moments notice, and for no reason what-so-ever. As it stands right now the Government can't do that, but a weapon at a crime scene CAN be trace to the last legal owner through the serial number. It's done all the time.
Using this case as an example, I doubt that you can show how anything you have mentioned would have lowered the risk of this happening. The kid may have been crazy, but he wasn't stupid, he planned this very carefully, and even those that had a clue that there was a problem (like his English teacher) were ignored.
The waiting period for the two guns were exceeded by a considerable amount. The NICS check came back clean. The Kid had NO REPORTED mental problems.
What more would you care to do?
That last sentence is a question that I would like you to respond to...... Talk is cheap, reasonable responses take some consideration, and so do laws.

You realize of course that the comments you make here on a daily basis would be enough to have the BATFE knock on your door and take all of your guns away from you, don't you?????
I'm being serious here, and not busting chops. The many comments you have made in the past would be enough in many peoples eyes to have you disarmed at the drop of a hat. Do you really want that kind of Government control guided by Republicans?

David Koresh of Waco fame made his living doing exactly that, perfectly legal. He was well known at Houston gun shows. Timothy McVeigh also was frequent trader at these events. Guns sold in the utterly constant Houston-area gun shows constantly turn up in New York and New England in the hands of dope gangs and criminals. "Back alley guns" is an urban legend foisted by the right wing gun nuts who wish to hide what is a profitable and highly lucrative market for them - the sale of unregistered weapons to psychotics, violent criminals, cults and dope dealers.
The BATFE could have easily nailed them for "Strawman sales", you want to blame someone blame the BATFE they are the ones that seem to drop the ball routinely. The dropped it big time at the Waco incident, didn't they...............

You guys should keep in mind that America has way more people than the average country out there. Hence, the crimes are more likely to happen here.....
???????????? What!! Larger population= Increased risk of crime? Greater gun ownership= Less crime?
Some figures from the FBI: 200 million privately owned guns in US. Guns that are kept for "self defence" are 43 times more likely to be used to kill a family member or friend. 16 children are killed by gun ACCIDENTS each DAY.
