Yes, in my lame attempt at a little joke I realise that my geography was too vague. Since I lived out on Long Island, I always thought of 'northern' Jersey as the stinky industrial area around Jersey City, Newark and Elizabeth etc., through which I had to travel to reach my friends' weekend places on the shore. I take your point about the true, far north of the state.
