I was entertaining myself with the concept of a "vicious courtesan."

At any rate, it seems difficult to distinguish "vicious" partisan politics from plain old persistent partisan politics in its effect. And persistent to the point of absurdity is a feature of Bush's politics as well as that of his remaining supporters. lt is also "vicious" as practiced by Bush, and subscribed to by his supporters, at least viciously divisive. So, other than the entertaining diversions the "vicious partisan" term allowed, I don't see what the point was, other than to sustain the divisiveness. Jim

Assassination usually works. We had a sheriff in Eastern Kentucky that paid to have himself shot for sympathy.

So why isn't FTL in jail? His opinions are starkly contrary to Bush's and seem a threat to Bush's imperial power.

You're right that the U.S. is seeking to establish a permanent presence in Iraq, like we have in Germany, Japan, Korea etc.

But you're wrong when you say the motivation is "to steal their oil." I used the news story as evidence that the U.S. is actually allowing competetive bidding to award oil contracts and that the bids are not merely going to U.S. or British companies. Hence, the U.S. is trying to enrich Iraq by allowing it to sell its oil, not enriching itself by stealing the oil and selling it off to enrich the U.S.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the oil bidness.

Another key skill is the ability to actually believe the stupendous fiction they create, or simply regurgitate that which is generated by others. I believe Mr Doofman is also a fine candidate. Looks like we've got ourselves a little runoff, here.

Skillz baby, bring on the skillz.
