They acted like pussies during their retention and mercenaries only thereafter. They all joined the services knowing the risks and responsibilities. I understand and would agree more deeply with your viewpoint if the war truly held more at stake. The soldiers know this and treated it accordingly. Not a pretty sight.

World War I, World War II, Korea, Viet Nam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Etc. were NOT movies, and our US soldiers would have/did die before allowing themselves to be used like those British pussies. Nothing macho about it. It is how they are trained and expected to act!

Excuse me fellas, there is no declared war between England and Iran so the serial number argument might be a bit weak. They could have simply shut up and asked for a lawyer or played along like they did.

Probably is a *, but it is interesting that we both used the "p"-word to describe their behavior.

As usual, you are sooooo wrong! There has never been more at stake than winning the war on terrorism and they should know that--especially since 7-7-05!

Your attitude and that of the other Bash-Bushies -- that this is no big deal -- is going to get us all killed one day!

How is "no state of war declared" a nit? It seems like this is the crux of the entire matter.

Just for the record:

nit pick

1.to be excessively concerned with or critical of inconsequential details.
–verb (used with object)
2.to criticize by focusing on inconsequential details.
–noun
3.a carping, petty criticism.
–adjective

As I said earlier, this mentality will eventually get us all killed!

You are strange. The definition of "nit" was not in dispute. The question was, since the UK is not at war with Iran, why do you think this incident should have been handled as if they were?

Hey, DR, he might have two in the same thread: his reference to Iran's president as "Amanutjob" is pretty good, too.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)
