So, this Thomson dude is ditching his day job, again apparently, for a shot at (presidential, this time) politics. Given his less than stellar career (compared to say, Arnold or Ronnie, or even that loser Kelsey Gramme) so what qualifies him in your mind for being President? Are you sure you don't have him confused with Kelsey Grammer?

Jim
He has a TV show.

Kelsey Grammer????

He isn't committed to tossing his hat in, but it is legitimate conservative principles, scruples, stature and presence of a leader, charisma, credibility, yada, yada. He's from the home state, and was an excellent senator.

And besides, he's now ascended to avatar-status. That's the truest test of the man.

Two thoughts on that:

a) They haven't destroyed the party. The currently prominent Republican politicians aren't Conservative in the traditional sense of the word. In fact, they're more Liberal than anything else. Therefore they're not truly in the party even though they claim to be.

b) Even though I think it's the lesser of two evils (rather than the man best suited for the job), I would still vote for a Republican over a Liberal any day, because at least they are interested in preserving our nation.

'bout the same as Obama--served in the senate. I think Thompson was a prosecutor at one time. He also served on the Watergate staff of some senator.

In other words, another cookie-cutter politician from the Demopublican Party.

Don't you think you mean The Party, comrade? Purity is so important.

Such uniquely peculiar logic. The "prominent" Republican politicians are running the Republican Party, aren't they? That makes those who don't align with their priorities "not truly in the party even though they claim to be," until the presently prominent Republican politicians running the party are ejected. And, since you apparently agree the presently prominent Republican politicians aren't Conservative, and are more Liberal than anything else, how is it that you would vote for them over a "Liberal" any day? How is it that these "more Liberal than anything else" Republicans are more interested in preserving our nation? It is clear, your logic is flawed and you seem to be proud of the flaw as you proclaim the unsupported conclusion. This is the exact path the Germans followed to Naziism. Beware.

Yes, let's correct his statement: "not truly in The Party even though they claim to be"

Maybe they are about to have a little Night of the Long Knives.
