For Jayhawk, dorfman24, et al:

68 percent of those polled are fickeled kookbergers who don’t realize what a great job the president is doing and will kick themselves come 2009 when he’s gone.

or:

68 percent of those polled really approve of the president’s job performance but the anti-American, blame-America-first, left-wing, controlled by Al-Qaeda liberal media twist and distort the poll numbers to their liking turning the American people against their president. How tragic.
The democrat Congress will destroy this great nation if allowed to get their way!

Polls are no substitute for good government policy. They just reflect what people read and hear in the drive-by media. "How tragic," indeed!

On the other hand, perusing your posts, I find them to be superficially optimistic, as if you can be optimistic about corruption and criminality.

I just prefer to see the glass half-full--not half empty. But I'm no Pollyanna. I'm a realist, above all else.

I think it has to do with the way that I observe and think and the way that I have been trained through 30 years of experience. As a Systems Analyst, I am trained to look at a system in normative state and then determine ALL of the variables that affect that norm. When there are discussions on these boards I like to make sure that all of the little facts are on the table so that folks can make a better decision. Sometimes it is just the “left” side that I put out as the “right” side is presented by others. Sometimes somebody will throw out a random piece of info and I will throw out a tangential piece, maybe not opposing.

On the technical side, I do tend to put emphasis on some of the quality issues that have plagued Mercedes in the past decade. I do that so folks that read the forum will not just see the rose colored “Aren’t Mercedes the Greatest Things on Earth” posts but will understand that DCX has gone through a rough engineering and supply chain problem that started in the mid 90’s and only now seems to be correcting. They have also completely revamped the Dealer program to where now many dealers only get about $500 profit on each C-Class sold. Folks need to know things are not like they were.

Whether it is pointing out the $5Trillion National Debt that we will be living with for the next 50 years or our open borders [cowboy W not so tough on Security] which has let millions in and only now is trying to figure a solution or DCX’s supply chain quality control issues; you see those as negative, I seem them as pointing out facts that folks need to know when they are making their INFORMED decisions.

I am also the guy that will stop people in traffic and tell them that they have a tire going down or that their coat belt is hanging out their door getting dirty. Attention to detail.

As a Systems Analyst who has spent years as a consultant, I would have to advise you that the glass is NOT half full, nor half empty. In reality you have the wrong sized glass.

I tried Systems Studier Guy on my business card but it just didn't have a good ring to it. And then there is that whole stud thing.
