The provision for recess appointments is exclusively for the sake of emergency situations. If the appointment was made in that spirit, it was not unethical. If, OTOH, it was made to circumvent the laws and conventions of our government, oh never mind -- if you don't understand right from wrong, there is really no point in explaining it. If Mr. Bush or anyone else fail to do the right thing, just because it is the right thing to do, he/she has earned condemnation. Furthermore, if Mr. Bush pushed this appointment through for personal reasons, rather than putting his country and its constituency first, he has also earned a blanket condemnation for failure to execute his proper responsibility as POTUS.
You and I apparently have a different perspective on a great many things, including qualifications and demonstration of outstanding leadership, and what does and does not qualify as a shining example of a resume for employment as an official U.S. diplomat. Your track record as a steadfast apologist for the Bush administration is still intact.
