Long distance sale questions

Looks like I'm selling my 107 to a buyer on the east coast. He has only seen comprehensive pics, mechanical history and repair orders. The car will be tranported at his expense. We have spoken on the phone numerous times and feel good about the deal but I haven't done this kind of sale before and have some questions regarding the transaction.

(1) Usually do a certified check or wire transfer but the buyer suggested he open an account at my local branch of his bank and deposit money in my name which can be released on receipt of the car or something along those lines.

(2) We can draw up a paper that states the car is as I say and as long as it matches up, funds will be released.

I understand the need to protect both parties, but I'm a little reticent about sending my car off without cash in hand and DMV transfer being done prior to transport. Any experience in this kind of sale? Thanks guys.

Money isn't everything, but it keeps the kids in touch.

I sold my car through someone who saw it for sale on 190rev(also posted on bnzsport and mercedesshop) and he sent a postal money order(well quite a few of them since they have a limit on denomination size). We spoke on the phone many times and excahnged all information about each other. I set up the transportation venue and he paid for it. Once the money orders cleared, I brought the car to the shipping yard and had all the paperwork I had accumulated in the trunk(minus the title) and fed ex the title. There were no hassles and he was more than pleased with the car.

Here is the car I sold for 5k:
