I start my internship tomorrow.....
I don't know why I am creating this thread but I am very happy that I got an awesome internship. After Novartis Pharmaceutical took away my offer due to a small criminal offense, I was somewhat paranoid that all my hard work at school was going to go to waste. Anyway, the internship that I landed is at a major investment bank and I am working in the "Healthcare Financial Services" department. My duty will be to look at financial statements of hospitals and doctors that are taking out million dollar loans. I need to do all the various ratios and decompile the company down to a "t" to see if they will default on the loan. This is exactly what I wanted to do in life; work for a huge bank and dress up in a suit every single day. The pay isn't bad either since they offered me just a little bit over 20 bucks per hour and I will be getting credit for a class as well (just for an internship though). The weird thing about this internship is that it's all year round instead of just the summer. When I went for the interview I laid it out on the table about my criminal record and explained everything. The lady sort of chuckled and assured me it would not be a problem. She kept her word because my start date is tomorrow. I cannot believe that I landed something this good but what I cannot believe is that I have seven more classes to go and I will be graduating with two degrees.
I guess this means I have to grow up now. All the people in the department seem pretty focused on work and they also seem very mean. Give it a week and I'll be running circles around them, especially since I excel rather quickly.
