You asked for the "mysterious UN Resolution." I gave it to you. Do you dispute its authenticity?

I'm sorry, but you appear to be living in an alternate reality, in which Blix completed his task and supported an invasion, and in which our invasion of Iraq was duly sanctioned by the UN. In four years of actively debating these issues on the Internet, this is the first time I've encountered an individual promoting such a scenario. High marks for creativity and originality.

I don't understand why you need to take a disagreement and question one's sanity. That doesn't seem right.

Where did I say that Blix supported the invasion of Iraq? Please quote that passage. Where did I say that the invasion was "sanctioned" by the U.N. I didn't. I said it was "authorized" by the U.N., which as a matter of law it was.

No, there is nothing to dispute. It does not authorize invasion/occupation, and is thus irrelevant. Please produce the document that authorized a UN invasion and occupation, or even a US invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003.

You didn't state it, you suggested it just as you suggested that Mr. Blix was allowed to complete his task, which he most certainly was not.

I will refer you again to this passge, which makes Iraq's compliance with the cease fire contingent on its compliance with U.N. resolutions:

"Recalling that in its resolution 687 (1991) the Council declared that a ceasefire would be based on acceptance by Iraq of the provisions of that resolution, including the obligations on Iraq contained therein,

Determined to ensure full and immediate compliance by Iraq without conditions or restrictions with its obligations under resolution 687 (1991) and other relevant resolutions and recalling that the resolutions of the Council constitute the governing standard of Iraqi compliance"

As such, Iraq violated (in the U.N.'s judgement) the cease fire that it signed with the U.N. and the U.S. in 1991. When a nation vioates a cease fire it enters a state of war.

If you are going to invoke a dispute based on semantics, I will no longer waste my time here. Good luck to you sir!

I didn't suggest that about Blix. In March of 2003, (four months after U.N. Resolution 1441 which demanded "immediate compliance") Blix reported that Iraq was not in compliance. Blix has since made it quite clear that he did not support the invasion, and as a private citizen he has every right to share that opinion with us. But as an employee of the U.N. he was tasked with assessing Iraq's level of compliance, which he deemed inadequate. The policy decision of whether or not to invade Iraq was not his to make.

If the U.S. so blatantly acted without U.N. sanction as you believe, why is Bush not in jail? Do you believe that he and the 400 members of Congress who authorized the invasion of Iraq should be in jail?

Sorry, but I see no specific discussion of remedies within this passage.

I'm sorry you feel that way. You inferred several things from my posts (that Blix supported the invasion) that I did not say. I was merely clarifying.
