Ok here's my political question...

Even though I'm not too fond of politcs...sorry guys ...I'm wondering who said this and how it was said.

the phrase/quote that I'm thinking of goes something like this..."while others _ why, I _ why not"
I think it's either JFK or RFK who said it. BUT I'm wondering what the "blank" word is. Is it "ask" "say" or "think"? or none of the above?
Can you guys help me out?!!

Are you referring to this?

"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country." -- John F. Kennedy

"If spending money you don't have is the height of stupidity, borrowing money to give it away is the height of insanity." -- anon

No, that's an RFK speech.

"There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why... I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?"

I think you are both wrong. It is actually a well known Dick Cheney quote:

"while others may disagree, I ask, why not shoot them in the fucking face?"

Actually, RFK ORIGINALLY did not say that....

"Some people see things as they are, and say why; I see things as they never were, and ask, why not?"

I was at lunch today and someone said "While others ask why I ask; why not?" I was sure he was not smart enough to come up with that himself.
